This example of ventricular endocardium also contains numerous good longitudinal sections of myocardium. Review the morphological components that are typical of cardiomyocytes. Find examples of intercalated discs and branching fibers. Note the absence of smooth muscle cells in this example of inner subendocardium. Be able to identify each of the endocardial layers.
